Privacy
On this page, we describe in detail what data LiveConfig® collects and under what conditions it is transmitted to us.
As a matter of principle, data minimization is a top priority for LiveConfig®. We avoid collecting and storing data as much as possible. All data is transmitted exclusively via a TLS-encrypted connection (https). CA pinning ensures that the data can only end up with us.
License/activation
To activate a license, LiveConfig transmits the activation code to our license server, for renewal an individual renewal token. The IP address used and the activation code are logged. The data remains stored with us for the entire duration of the contract, thus providing an overview of the IP addresses from which a license was activated or renewed.
In justified cases (misuse/fraud), we reserve the right to store the IP address permanently and to compare it to prevent further cases of fraud.
Crash reports
If you have agreed to the transmission of crash reports (“opt-in”), the LiveConfig backend will submit the following data in the event of a crash:
- LiveConfig version
- list of libraries supplied by LiveConfig and their version numbers
- stack trace, consisting of the name of the affected process (
serverorclient), signal number, and list of addresses (with the name of the respective library, if applicable)
No memory contents, variables, or other data are transmitted.
The IP address of the transmitting server is temporarily logged in the web server’s log file, but is not linked or evaluated. The crash report is therefore completely anonymous; we cannot assign it to any customer.
Server statistics
If you have agreed to the transmission of server statistics (“opt-in”), LiveConfig generates a random ID (“UUID”) to pseudonymize the server and then sends (and thereafter on a monthly basis) the following data:
- name and version of the Linux distribution
- LiveConfig version number
- list of services managed by LiveConfig and their version numbers
No usage data (number of customers, domains, etc.) is transmitted to us. The statistics are only collected using pseudonyms and therefore cannot be assigned to any customer.
If the authorization to send server statistics is revoked, the data stored by us will be automatically and immediately deleted. The UUID will also be deleted.
