Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Canonical released the Ubuntu version 22.04 LTS “Jammy Jellyfish” in April 2022. Canonical is supposed to support this version until April 2027.

In addition to many package updates, there were unfortunately also some (at least for developers) unpleasant changes, including:

  • The previous netboot images for installation are no longer available, an ISO with the “Ubuntu Server Installer” must now be used for installation.
  • The format of the .deb package files has changed a bit (now use zstd for better compression).

So for this we had to adapt our CI/CD environment (for builds and tests) partly massively, as well as change the tools for repository management.

However, the first PHP packages for Ubuntu 22.04 are now available (7.2 and 8.2RC), with more versions to follow in the next few days. LiveConfig itself is currently not fully tested on Ubuntu 22.04, we are still working on this as well.

As soon as there is news, we will update this page.
